This project was inspired by Rene Magritte a surrealist artist. I looked at the different forms of clouds in multiple medias using watercolour and fine liner, all images used in the project were pictures i had taken of clouds throughout my life.

I produced prints of clouds using different techniques, such as screen printing and vegetable printing using broccoli, to explore adding texture to the images to break down the structure of clouds.

This video brings Rene Magrittes surrealist style into real life, displaying 3 tall, smartly dressed men performing with the painted umbrellas from Cloud Burst, icons which were heavily used in his work.

‘Geometric Cloud’ consists of 3D hexagon origami shapes hung from the ceiling. The model was placed in front of a window to display the cloud in two different forms, viewed together the sclupture is a large cloud but each shape is also an individual one. This explores the idea of how natural clouds we see in the sky are made of many layers.
