The giving tree allows Scotland's landscape to be explored and celebrated with minimal damage to the natural surroundings, through the solution of Sustainable Microhomes. To target these issues, the Giving Tree homes are designed with regenerative design principles and are multi-purposed for living and to facilitate an immersive culture exchange. Key features like the home elevated on stilts, mirroring the shape of the rubber tree, to preserve natural habitats. Interior design features incorporate recycled plastics from organisations like Ecollab08, which actively pulls plastic from the ocean, re-purposing plastic waste into furniture and tiles. The raised decks of Giving Tree Homes serve as personal or community spaces, hosting events that bring together locals and tourists for activities like art workshops, markets, and yoga seminars. This design not only supports sustainable living, but also enriches the community through shared cultural experiences.
